GenCon 2010

GenCon 2010 was the best I have been to since my first visit in 2007.  The gaming atmosphere was well improved from last year.  There were more booths with more gaming publishers and vendors.  I was surprised that Lego was there demoing their latest Board Game Series.  They even had an inflatable rock climb!  Fantasy Flight was much improved with their two booths this year.  One was dedicated to showingand selling its games while the other booth was demoing their games. I was glad to see Wizard of the Coast return with the high-rise second story booth!  And I was surprised that CoolStuffInc sold out most of their games before the last day of the convention.  Their prices were the best deal at the exhibition hall.

The most surprising game demo at the exhibition hall was at a booth all the way in the far west corner.  If you didn't browse the entire hall then you could have easily missed this booth.  It featured an upcoming game called Ascension.  I really liked this game and hope it gets more support.  Because this will be a great addition to the many non-collectible card games that have spawned due to Dominion during the last couple of years.  We will definitely do a video on Ascension in the next couple of weeks.
Next year as General Collectibles gets more viewers and support, we will do a short video on GenCon.  It will show all the great things this convention has to offer.  I can't wait for next year!
